The Boys Varsity Soccer team earned their first victory of the season on Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over Wakefield. AC Castelluccio started off the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 10th minute of play. Tyler Baczewski scored in the 35th minute off of an assist from Ohan Manoukian, bringing the team into the half with a 2-0 lead.
Wakefield came out of the break and pressured the BHS defense, creating a direct kick opportunity outside of the penalty box just two minutes into the second half, and converted on the ensuing kick to bring them back within a goal. The BHS defense responded, and continued to thwart the opposition from that point on, being lead by Jake Fahey, Tom Murphy, Mike Boeri, Trevor Dutton, and Goalie Juan Aguilar. The Red Devils finally turned the momentum around in the 72nd minute, when Lucas Restivo found a streaking Tyler Baczewski who placed the ball in the right corner of the net to seal the victory.
In the earlier game, the JV Boys team blanked Wakefield 3-0 on goals by Mike Brown, Tad Pierre-Louis, and Derek Skinner, with solid goal keeping by Joe Renaud and David Whitney.
